• 2 cups Balsamic Vinegar
  • 3 Ripe Tomatoes, Sliced Thick
  • 12 Ounces Mozzarella Cheese
  • Fresh Basil Leaves
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Kosher Salt and Freshly Ground Black Pepper

Caprese salad is one of my all-time favorite food dishes.  I could eat it anywhere, anytime as an appetizer, main dish, snack, or even on a panini sandwich!  This is one of the easiest appetizers to make.  The textures of the juicy tomatoes, vinegar, olive oil, and basil are a perfect mouth-watering combination.  This salad is a great appetizer for any holiday, Christmas (red and green duh), Valentines (romantic), or even in the summer with your hamburgers (fresh tomatoes from the garden)!

Trust me, you will want to get this in your mouth as soon as you can!

Step 1:

Slice tomatoes and mozzarella equally in thickness.  Arrange on serving platter.

Step 2:

Cut the basil in long strips or put a leaf on each slice of tomato and mozzarella together.

Step 3:

Drizzle olive oil all over the top of the salad, getting it on both sides.  Do the same with the balsamic vinegar.

Step 4:

Sprinkle with Kosher salt and fresh ground pepper.  Serve as an appetizer, with fresh artisan bread, or with your main dish!
